Burn Calories at Your Personalised Home Gym
If you could have a gorgeous figure in a flick of the thumb, what would you do? You probably would take the opportunity in an instant. However, you have to accept that real life will never work that way. If you wish to become fit, you have to exert time and effort. The problem is: what if you are willing to work hard but your schedule does not permit you to visit a commercial gym? In a case like this, wouldn't it be nice to have your own workout sanctuary right inside your abode?
No, it doesn't mean that you need to go all out and buy every piece of heavy equipment a training establishment usually has. It means having your own fitness room with the best exercise tools suitable for your needs as well as your budget.
The goal is to create a functional space enough for you to enjoy your sweat routines without going against your present décor.
- Find a suitable location where you can do your workout without any hindrances and distractions. It could be a spare room, an attic, a basement or a garage-as long as the temperature is optimal for sweating and the area is large enough for all your stuff.
- Sketch a floor plan and draw in all the equipment (with their dimensions) that you are planning to purchase. This will give you an idea on how everything will look after your project. As an additional tip, it would be a good idea to put the tallest machines against the wall and the smaller ones in the middle of the room. Don't forget to protect your flooring by putting rubber mats underneath.
- Paint the place with colours that motivate you to make sure that it will not feel dull when you start training later on. If you want to focus on yoga or meditative exercises, you might want to go for light shades that make you feel relaxed.
- Let natural light flood your home gym. If you are using the basement or any secluded room, it's advised to install daylight bulbs to mimic a sunlit environment instead of fluorescent or incandescent bulbs that seem to drain a person's energy. Also, you should set up an effective ventilation system to make sure that there will be proper airflow.
- Decorate the place with long-length mirrors, motivational posters/pictures, scented candles, and plants. You can even hang a flat-screen TV or install speakers for music. Also, set up a table where you can leave your towels and other improtant items.
Not only is a home gym open for 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, it is also a good way to promote bonding among families and friends. You won't even have to worry about what to wear!
