Concept Cars That Rocked the Planet
A concept car is a prototype of a vehicle that is designed and manufactured to showcase a theory, new style, technology, etc. Oftentimes, such a vehicle is shown off during motor shows to determine how consumers would react to its wild or radical design. This helps car manufacturers gauge the success of a design if it is mass-produced. However, it is not only the design or the style of a concept car that makes it radical, but as well as its engine, layout, material, and the like. For this reason, several models were never manufactured and remained to be figments of the imagination. Nevertheless, there are others that have been successfully developed into fully drivable vehicles complete with working drivetrains and accessories.
One of the most notable concept cars in the world was the Buick Y-Job, which was designed in the late 1930s by General Motors' most famous designer. It was considered the first ever concept car of the auto industry. It had power-operated hidden headlamps, gun-sight hood ornament, wraparound bumpers, and prefigured styling cues. Then, there was Mako Shark from Chevrolet Corvette, which was produced in 1961. It was inspired by the sleek and fast-moving shortfin mako shark.
At present, numerous concept cars were introduced to the market. Some have been successful, while others were produced at a very minimal number. Another concept car that was recently invented is the ride that was inspired by a gym project. It does not use fuel to run, but rather a battery pack that can be charged if the driver uses different parts of the car as a stepping machine, rowing machine, bench press, pull-up simulator, and arm weights. This amazing vehicle will definitely be a thrill for those who love working out in the gym.
